Topcon Positioning Asia Malaysia hosted INTI International University Malaysia for a one-day Technical Visit Day at their headquarter office located at Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The technical visit were held on 24th January 2024 and it involved 38 students and 4 lecturers from program studies such as Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours and Bachelor of Science (Hons) Quantity Surveying.

The objective of technical visits is to bridge the widening gap between theoretical learning and practical exposure by giving students and lecturers first-hand exposure to identify the inputs and outputs of different business operations and processes performed at the workplace. This visit can be a valuable way for students especially in engineering studies to learn about the real-world applications of their studies.

During the visit, both students and lecturer get acquainted with various types of Topcon equipment and instruments such as 3D laser scanners, total station, GNSS and Machine Control. Students were able to try hands-on these instruments with guidance from our technical support team, which is a rarely obtained opportunities. This enabled the students to correlate their theoretical knowledge with the industry’s latest trends.
